Thanks all around

Kevin, Blake, and I would like to thank everyone for the cards, well wishes, food, and gifts.  The last week has had its many ups and downs but it sure feels good to know that so many of you care and are rooting for Blake.  He continues to make small weight gains.  He is now up to 4 lbs. 7oz.  We are preparing to go home soon.  We really are overwhelmed by the generosity of others.  Thank you!

The First Week

Blake has been in the NICU for over a week.  What a difference a week can make.  Take a look at his progress.  The doctors still want Blake to gain weight but they are also watching to make sure his heart rate is stable.

He is still in the Hospital.  He is stable though and eating.  He needs to put on some weight, but other than that he is doing good. We are going there today (Saturday). We are taking the classes hospital offers to be prepared for taking him home.

Blake had a great day today.  He did well with his feedings.  We are still working on bulking him up.  They are putting a fortifier in his bottle to add more calories to his milk.  He looks so cute in one of his new outfits.  By the end of the day he had gained 30 grams.  That is considered a good weight gain for a day.  He is up to 4 lbs. 5.3oz.  Keep up the good work, Blake!

Today 8/25

Today is our original due date!  Blake is in the nicu .  He is doing fine in an open crib.  We like good news like this.  He is going to have a lot of visitors this afternoon.  His Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Julie finally get to meet him!
